About the Position: As a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Prevention Specialist (SAR WF), you are responsible for the planning, execution, coordination, and evaluation of prevention activities and training, education, and outreach efforts to prevent sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Duties
Analyze, assess, and clearly communicate program objectives, policies, operations, and resource data to ensure efficiency in the development and execution of the command's SHARP-related activities.
Develop prevention programs for the installation that span across the socio-ecological model and serve to educate others on potential risk factors and protective factors in the area of sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Conduct environmental scans and determine the manner or type of needs assessment that is most appropriate. Use professional knowledge to compile and analyze data that summarizes trends, prevalence, incidences and outcome within the community.
Use professional knowledge to support the command's integrated prevention efforts to include planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes against sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Provide professional consultation services, advice and assistance to commanders and requesting staff on complex technical problems within the command pertaining to the SHARP Program.
Represent the organization in collaboration efforts, at briefings, and at other meetings to present SHARP Prog Prev initiatives and implementation plans, plan design, impact findings, and use of research/eval, policy management, and process analyses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain a Tier 3 background investigation, or equivalent, and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation are required.
- Background checks against all records required by law, Office of Personnel Management, Department of Defense, and Army policy or regulation will be conducted prior to entering on duty in the position,
- and, IAW governing regulations, on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
- State Criminal History Repository check is required for all states of residence in the previous five and/or up to ten years.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
- Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and obtain and maintain D-SAACP certification.
- Must complete all required training, obtain D-SAACP certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
- Required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
- May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.

Basic Requirement for SHARP Program Prevention Specialist (SAR WF)
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc. (NOTE: You must submit transcripts.)
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (NOTE: You must submit transcripts.)
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, execution/ coordination, and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs, and practices) in the area of sexual harassment/sexual assault; training and implementation of comprehensive prevention activities that address individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community factors that contribute to sexual harassment and sexual assault.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
