About the Position: The primary function of this position is to plan, develop, and coordinate, and direct the operation of (1) the Family Advocacy Program and (2) Prevention Education, New Parent Support and Victim Advocacy.

Duties

Evaluate the needs for direct services, training, preventive education, causes of, and appropriate resolution for Family Advocacy Programs. Plan, develop, and implement an installation wide family advocacy program. Serves as the Commanders primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all matters involving domestic violence. Oversee Family Advocacy Program and Exceptional Family Member Program. Provides crisis intervention, intake and referral for active-duty military, and family members.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting military personnel and their families in the area of child/spouse abuse; providing information on domestic violence and abuse to victims; and providing counseling, referral to agencies and reporting procedures for cases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
