About the Position: Serves as the Assistant Product Manager in the Office of a PEO Missiles and Space Product/Project Manager. Performs continuous management and review of cost, schedule, performance and life cycle management of projects/programs/products as they transition through the acquisition life cycle from research, development, production, fielding and sustainment.
This is a pay banded position. The NH-03 encompasses grades 12 and 13 on the General Schedule.
Duties
Perform continuous management and review of cost, schedule, performance and life cycle management of projects/programs/products as they transition through the acquisition life cycle.
Responsible for program and customer interface activity between developer/ manufacturer, and other commands/agencies providing products and services in support of the Army Missiles and Space (including Air and Missile Defense) mission.
Assesses long-range factors in their potential to affect programmatic or technical progress of the project.
Review program documentation and makes decisions concerning long range plans, policies and schedules to improve the programmatic and technical effectiveness of the management team.
Responsible for program and customer interface activity between developer/ manufacturer, and other commands/agencies providing products and services in support of the Army Missiles and Space mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 5 years of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing advice to higher-level management on all matters relating to one or more specifically assigned system(s); 2) Managing the total life cycle of assigned systems(s) to include development, acquisition, test, production, fielding and sustainment; 3) Determining impact on the product and reviews overall project situation to initiate new or remedial action; and 4) Managing and directing studies and investigations to provide for system improvements, incorporation of new requirements and other technical and programmatic data for operations of systems.
To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service.
