About the Position: Directs a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program for an assigned organization. Serves as a principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for SHARP policies and programs; develops strategic plans and policies to support response and prevention elements of the sexual harassment/assault program and conducts assessments to ensure policy/program effectiveness;prioritizes victim care .
Duties
As the Lead SARC, the incumbent is responsible for all SHARP case management, and co-chairing/overseeing the execution of the meetings with the Senior Commander.
Enforce compliance among SARCs and VAs with SHARP protocols and procedures for advocacy services and SHARP prevention personnel for SHARP-related prevention activities.
As a credentialed SARC, the incumbent is responsible to perform duties as a SARC as required and outlined in AR 600-20 (24 July 2020), DoDI 6495.02, change 4 (11 September 2020) or any current SHARP regulatory guidance.
Evaluate proposals for systems and/or programs required to meet existing or anticipated operational problems, challenges and changes in the operations environment.
Responsible for the full range of supervisory duties for a diverse population, to include exercising significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Five years or more providing SH/SA advocacy services in the military or private sector is preferred.
- Background checks against all records required by law, Office of Personnel Management, DoD, and Army policy or regulation will be conducted
prior to entering on duty in the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Must attend and graduate from required SHARP training courses within six months of employment.
- Must maintain an active D-SAACP certification and up-to-date commander appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/
motor pool vehicle.
- May be subject to occasional 24/7 on-call SARC responsibilities.
- The incumbent will be required to maintain a 24/7 duty phone.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes manage program activities that emphasize prevention of sexual harassment/assault and victim advocacy; gather information to develop sexual harassment/assault policy and guidelines to achieve program objectives; provide advice on sexual harassment/assault to management and program support personnel; and analyze program data to identify trends or areas for improvement.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
