THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

Duties

You will perform repair and certification on equipment and parts for NAVSUP systems support. You will analyze engineering literature, procedures, and technical drawings. You will make sound decisions using electronics principles. You will perform final test operations, verification that the system, equipment or component is performing, within designated certification parameters.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Installing, testing and maintaining complex electronics equipment Analyzing instructions for the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment and related test-set equipment. Diagnosing equipment malfunctions through the use of system analysis, test equipment and schematics. Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree. Education must be directly related to the work of the position.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
