Duties
Conducts extensive analysis, review and study of program goals and priorities in support of DFAS organizations.
Identifies and evaluates whether functional requirements are being met by current or will be met by future finance and accounting systems.
Reviews and evaluates new and modified compliance-related business rules, capability based requirements and systems change requests.
Develops workflows and cross-functional diagrams of “as-is” and “to be” process maps. Conducts gap analyses.
Communicates and interprets operational priorities for each organization order to analyze effective business solutions.
Contributes a business or process perspective during design reviews.

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Applying expert knowledge of financial management principles as they relate to automated systems processing and finance operations; analyzing spend plan data for working capital funds; planning and implementing process improvements relative to large-scale accounting and financial operations, systems, policies, and procedures; and providing high-level financial systems expertise to senior leadership to help them carry out financial missions with allocated resources.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
