About the Position: This position is a Permanent, Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation), GS-0203-07 position located with the 193RD Infantry Brigade 120TH AG Battalion (reception) Initial Receiving Branch (IRB).

Duties

As a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation), work will be under the general supervision of the Chief, Initial Receiving Branch (IRB). Responsible for the oversite and processing of Trainees enrolled in the Future Soldier Preparatory Course. Responsible for the oversite and processing of Soldiers who are Absent without Leave (AWOL) and Dropped from Rolls (DFR). Serve as a primary hand receipt holder responsible for accountability and security of automated equipment. Responsible for automated systems and their use to facilitate the availability of data necessary for reception operations and processing Soldiers into the Army.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.

Specialized experience for other than current or former Federal employees: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing computer systems, equipment and software to complete tasks, 2) reviewing personnel records for accurate documentation, 3) processing personnel actions using automated systems, and 4) maintain files and create reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Resources Technology UsagePersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Current Federal employees on a career or career-conditional appointment: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent. *Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
