About the Position: This is a Term position as a Force Protection Plans and Policy Specialist with the US ARMY CENTRAL G36 PROTECTION HQ SECTION SHAW AFB, SC 29152 ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND OPM PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK".

Duties

Serve as a Force Protection Plans and Policy Specialist, as a member of U.S. Army Central Main Command Posts (MCP). Create U.S. Army Central special plans in the preparation for/response to Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, Explosive Ordnance (EOD) Operations, Provost Marshal Operations, and natural disasters. Coordinate and interact with the organizations staff and other agencies at staff-officer, Branch Chief and Division Chief level within the USARCENT and CENTCOM. Brief and advise other Staff Directors, the Chief of Staff, the Commanding General and other General Officers and Executive Level Personnel. Serve as an advisor to the Director of Operational Protection and the USARCENT Commanding General on all Protection issues and related programs. Analyze and develop methods to enhance accuracy and timeliness of information for the organizations plans. Formulate long-term operating plans for assigned missions and functions. Coordinate the programs, plans and policies for all Operational Protection Directorate Division.

Requirements

  • Pre-employment and random thereafter drug testing required.
  • This is a TERM NTE 2 years position, may be extended up to 8 years, may be made permanent without further competition.
  • One-year term trial period may be required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the incumbent to spend up to 25% of their time away from their official duty station both CONUS and OCONUS is required.

Qualifications

This position is a TERM position Not To Exceed Two Years. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years total. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. This position MAY be made permanent without further competition contingent upon verification of the incumbent's non-competitive eligibility (must be a 30% veteran, reinstatement eligible, etc., under competitive service). This position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or a Temporary Reassignment and may be extended for current Department of Army employees. At the end of this period, you will return to your permanent position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.
