This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent provides analytics and oversight in support of worldwide operations, to facilitate on-time deployment of forces through Joint Planning and Execution processes and information technologies such as ORION and Advana through qualitative and quantitative advanced analytics and reporting. Coordinates with the Services, Combatant Commands, and other staff command elements in the performance of duties.
Duties
As a FORCE FLOW PROCESSES ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Perform Force Management/Force Provider analyses, leveraging traditional and innovative techniques, for projects and/or studies on current actions and planned operations.
Examine a variety of methods, techniques, and processes; recommend those suitable or producing explicit findings for movement analysis.
Select critical elements of real-world systems for inclusion in models. (determine differences between real-world from perfect world). Participate in the selection of qualitative or quantitative techniques or algorithms relevant to real-world environments to determine necessary actions.
Participate in review and/or development of Global Force Management (GFM) related reports and working documents to ensure appropriate analytical rigor, methodology and conclusions or recommendations are included in final products.
Responsible for data collection, organization, and analyses; apply analytical techniques in innovative ways and suggest alternate means. Obtain and evaluate data for use in future operations.
Provide state-of-the-art, on-the-job technical training for new personnel in all phases of assigned work, leveraging GFM-supporting information technology systems and applications and instruct on specific tasks, job techniques, and methods for use applicable analytical products and applying 'best practices' techniques.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS- GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Resolving Force management issues and operations to ensure results reflect current environment to assess the required needs to assigned projects.
Performs Force Management/Force Provider analyses to assess and improve program effectiveness.
Reviews current transportation rules, procedures, and operations governing requirements for domestic and foreign transportation processes; utilized for the movement of forces, in transit visibility, deployment and redeployment.
Recommends processes and information flow associated with the planning and execution of military forces, as well as information systems involved in scheduling and tracking of joint capabilities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
