This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Columbus, Ohio, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Fort Meade, Maryland, and Scott AFB, Illinois .

Duties

Plans, coordinates, and compiles complex financial accounting data related to budgeting, reporting, financial management, and auditing of agency funds. Analyzes and researches financial data, interprets policy and regulations; and reconciles hard copy documents to accounting reports. Tracks, monitor, and analyzes program spending and make sound, cost-effective decisions and streamline operational costs. Analyzes budget execution status and recommends reasonable levels of programs and the transfer/allocation of funds between organizational elements. Maintains budget operations integrity by ensuring budget alignment with agency financial plans and obtaining optimal means of achieving approved agency objectives and priorities. Recommends process improvements and develops forecasting reports on obligation and disbursement rates.

• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• This is a Level II Financial Management certified position.

Qualifications

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience at the GS12 level is defined as experience performing budgeting and accounting reconciliations; experience preparing financial reports for delivery to reimbursable customer; and experience researching financial accounting transactions for closures of reimbursable projects to improve effectiveness and customer service. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education
