This position is located at the National Archives and Records Administration in Information Services, Office of the Chief of Staff. This position will be responsible for the ongoing planning, execution, and coordination of audit activities and resolution of audit recommendations based on audits and reviews performed by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the US Government Accountability Office (GAO); internal control evaluation and reporting; and policy oversight.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will:
Direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of subordinate employees, establishing overall project goals and priorities and evaluating results through formal reviews, briefings, reports, and personal observation.
Establish and maintain personal contacts with senior-level management officials, equivalent stakeholders, private contractors and the public.
Coordinating responses to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) audits and reviews.
Analyzing the results of audits by advising Divisions on best approaches to resolving the findings and open recommendations.
Lead, oversee, and report the progress made by Information Services in resolving outstanding audit recommendations of the OIG and GAO.
Lead and oversee Information Services internal controls program.
Plans, develops, and conducts a continuing program for assessing Office policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position is defined as:
- Managing a team, in order to integrate goals or priorities into programs; AND
- Performing reviews of internal controls for compliance; AND
- Analyzing policies, directives and/or procedures of programs and/or projects; AND
- Providing supporting review documentation.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
