Duties
You will serve as an expert in security, design, development, testing, checkout, certification, lifecycle maintenance and readiness of multiple local area and wide area network systems and equipment.
You will lead a team of professionals directly responsible for all IT systems on site.
You will serve as a technical specialist that applies expert level of knowledge to develop procedures, methods, and techniques used for checkout, acceptance testing, and preparation of software, systems, and hardware.
You will serve as an advisor to manufacturers, computer engineers, management, related organizations, or contractor personnel, giving advice relative to testing and evaluation.
You will function as the technical authority for information systems security issues and are regularly consulted by management for expert advice on complex issues.
You will lead special projects, ongoing analysis, investigations and initiatives that have high priority for
senior management.
You will schedule and conduct special security studies, analyses, surveys, and/or reviews of IT systems to assure appropriate levels of safeguards exist to protect against threats.

- You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 45-Systems Administration within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band (NO-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) Knowledge of systems, networks, operating systems and system architecture; 2) Knowledge of information systems security principles, controls and related disciplines; 3) Knowledge of computer security technologies, objectives, problems and solutions; 4) Serving as a subject matter expert within the Industrial Security community and 5) communicating both orally and in writing.
