You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist in the Naval Test Wing Pacific, AIRTEVRON-31 Dust Devils of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will perform duties relating to facilities and space management, including the identification and analysis of facility requirements. You will develop and maintain future requirements for facility construction, repair, alteration and equipment installation for aviation hangars and apron facilities and structures. You will make recommendations based on analysis and findings in the facility allocation, use, modification, and acquisition processes. You will provide Quality Assurance and Quality control for projects in cooperation with Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Infrastructure Business Office (IBO) construction managers. You will ensure that all VX-31 facilities requirements are properly addressed and executed by the service providers. You will serve as the squadron’s requirements representative and Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) to the Base Operating Services Contract (BOSC).

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band DA-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Overseeing various initiatives related to facilities enhancement, restoration, modernization, research and development center investments, and earthquake recovery efforts; 2) Managing a broad spectrum of aviation infrastructure projects, covering construction, repairs, equipment installations, and ongoing maintenance for hangars, apron facilities, and associated structures, involving a variety of trades and systems; 3) Providing liaison support with various facility and equipment service providers; 4) Assuring compliance with all certifications, safety, fire prevention, information systems, and security program requirements while ensuring facilities projects are completed and executed properly; 5) Preparing all documentation necessary for requesting service provider support.
