Duties

You will verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports. You will answer request and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialist on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. You will post, examine, balance, computer, and extract data from records to prepare reports. You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants. You will maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Requirements

• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

GS-06 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: The position requires experience in data processing, data entry, analysis, customer service, teamwork, and knowledge of accounting systems, email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. GS-05 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing customer service and entering data to a system with microsoft based programs. Education

(GS-05): You may also meet the minimum qualifications through education and/or combination of education and experience by satisfying one of the following:

A. Successfully completed four years of education above high school level

OR

B. Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
