Duties
Perform Defense Travel System (DTS) support.
Assist in coordination of all required actions to support the successful deployment, operation and management of DTS.
Monitor Authorizing Officials, Accountable Officials and Certifying Officials for compliance with the DTS requirements.
Monitor to ensure DTS is functioning and that unresolved issues are properly managed to ensure systemic problems are resolved and recommends changes as necessary.
Serve as on-site help desk technician, answering travel-related issues such as accuracy of travel data tables and certifications and sustainment training requirements.
Assist staff with travel order preparation and settlement vouchers when done manually or through the DTS.
Maintain statistical and administrative files as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing budgetary data pertaining to travel expenses; utilizing financial systems to enter and retrieve financial data; reviewing financial reports to determine compliance with policies; assisting personnel with travel system related inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
