The primary purpose of this position is to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense and national security by serving as a security specialist, providing security program functions in support of the organization.
Duties
1) Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the Information Security program for the Unit.
2) Develops and conducts various security briefings.
3) Plans, organizes, and directs a dimensional, multi-functional Unit Security Program.
4) Complies with established Unit Policies and Operating Instruction, Air Force and Department of Defense Security Directives and any other applicable security guidelines.

- Continue: or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification/ Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD,
- Or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
- The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
- The employee is required to obtain and maintain security clearance commensurate with position sensitivity code.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications
Qualifications are determined using: General Schedule Qualification Standards, GS-0080 Security Administration, Administrative and Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-2, equivalent to the GS-05 to GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes: knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information; analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of information, personnel, physical , industrial, communications and ADP security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security in these areas.
2. Knowledge of security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation and supported organizations.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective. professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
