The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Information Protection Directorate.
Duties
DUTY 1:
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AFRC/IP, ensuring that information protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
DUTY 2:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
DUTY 3:
Represents the MAJCOM with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
DUTY 4:
As the MAJCOM IP program manager/administrator, is accountable for the successful accomplishment of IP mission goals and objectives and the secure accomplishment of all other MAJCOM mission goals and objectives.
DUTY 5:
Serves as the final authority risk assessment/management/mitigation advisor to CC/CV for converged IP disciplines within and outside of the Directorate.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes demonstrating the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Experience includes knowledge of and ability to select from among, explain, and apply federal regulations and directives governing provision of comprehensive security management services for classified programs and operations. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery knowledge of protection concepts, principles, and practices to analyze, and resolve issues.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. In-depth knowledge of multiple security disciplines including operations, personnel, industrial, physical, etc.
4. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
5. Expert knowledge in analytical theories, processes, programs and practices.
6. Sophisticated understanding and skill in applying broad or in-depth expertise in highly complex and ambiguous situations (ODNI Proficiency Level 4 - Expert).
7. Strong writing and oral communication skills to inform and persuade.
8. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
