The primary purpose of this position is to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or
compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense and national security by serving as a security specialist, providing security program functions in support of the organization.
Duties
Interprets Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal regulations for information security processes as they apply and are implemented within the organization.
Analyzes personnel security problems, mission vulnerabilities, security impacts to mission assurance, and convergence difficulties involving multiple security disciplines and other functional areas; and provides cost effective, efficient, and productive solutions to ensure mission success.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of multiple customer missions in order to facilitate the protection of classified and SCI access as required by contract performance and to maintain detailed records on all supported industrial security activities.
Reviews facilities construction plans to ensure proper security measures are incorporated and implemented and coordinates acquisition, replacement, and installation of physical security equipment such as locking mechanisms, intrusion detection equipment, duress alarms, and lighting systems.

- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification/ Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established incumbents Entrance on Duty (EOD)
- Certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representatives

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or will have within 120 days of the closing of this announcement at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes: knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information; analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of information, personnel, physical, industrial, communications and ADP security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security in these areas.
Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
