About the Position: This is a Logistics Management Specialist position located within the Human Resources Command G6, Fort Knox, KY, dealing with logistics (automated systems and client software applicable to the Human Resource Command (HRC).
Duties
Serve as Logistics Management Specialist dealing with logistics (automated systems and client software applicable to the organization.
Provide logistics guidance to organizational personnel.
Services all activities, submissions for equipment portion of Tables of Distributions and Allowances and recommends appropriate action for further processing.
Conducts Command Logistics inspections, annually, of each subordinate activity to evaluate their programs, resolve problems, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. Travel may be required to attend training, conferences, and other mission requirements.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Requirements for Logistics Management Specialist:
GS-0346-07 - To qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work that involves compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information relating to the designated supply requirements; develop plans for approaches that may be taken in resolving questions; define stock levels and frequency of reordering. Possess experience identifying and analyzing relationships among organizational needs and objectives, costs, and requirements in supply guides and related information sources. Possess experience resolving conflicts in customer descriptions of required items, recommends substitutions, and advises about alternative acquisition approaches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-0346-09 - To qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work that involves analyzing logistics requirements for, identifying areas of functional responsibility, and coordinating logistical requirements. Possess experience researching and analyzing information; trace sequences of transactions to resolve questions; prepare entries for supply record systems; provide supply information, reports, and services; and recommend actions to eliminate problems involved in delivering services to supply customers or in implementing policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-07).
GS-0346-11 - To qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work that involves operational experience with a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts, and methodologies in one or more of the technical supply specializations (inventory, packaging, storing/distributing, or cataloging) or of supply program operations. Possess experience operational providing judgment and analysis to provide services or resolve problems. Possess experience providing services and resolving issues and problems of a procedural nature in supply operations, planning, or program management. Possess demonstrated knowledge of and utilization of established supply systems in weighing the impact of variables such as cost, existing policies and procedures, data processing requirements, and other issues that influence the course of action taken. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
GS-7 - 1 full year of graduate level education OR Superior academic achievement.
GS-9 - master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
GS-11 - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
