About the Position: This position supports the Defense Health Network Central office, assisting with the daily operations and execution of the aligned Treatment Facilities. This is an intermediate management position that provides oversight and support to the Treatment Facilities (MTF) aligned to it to ensure the delivery of integrated, affordable and high-quality healthcare to beneficiaries in accordance with the Defense Health Agency's (DHA) priorities.
Duties
Oversee and assure unity of the Directorate’s healthcare delivery operations, aligning functions and processes into a singular Network strategy.
Maintain a continuous program of review and analysis to assess the progress and effectiveness of the organization in relation to healthcare delivery objectives, schedules, and priorities.
Review work efforts within the healthcare delivery staff to ensure continued support to mission elements of the Directorate, as well as progress and timeliness of products.
Establish long range goals and objectives, translating objectives into specific projects.
Plan long range staffing and organization needs.
Manage organizational changes impacting healthcare delivery operations.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Up to 20% Business Travel required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Directing assignments to meet established medical facility objectives; 2) Assessing operational effectiveness to identify improvements in healthcare delivery services; AND 3) Determining manpower or resource allocation requirements in support of critical healthcare services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
