About the Position: The incumbent is responsible for the preparation of communications and directives for the Defense Health Agency Central Network, maintaining communications for all functions. Additionally, the incumbent serves as the principal staff officer for all matters concerning training, operations and plans, and force development and modernization.
Duties
Track ongoing actions to ensure completion of assigned tasks through assigned network locations.
Drive all communications between leadership and network facilities, ensuring uniform standards for healthcare delivery.
Analyze policies and/or data to prepare information papers for leadership review on issues.
Advise on Plans and Operations matters, such as force development and modernization.
Lead performance and/or process improvement efforts within the assigned Network of military facilities.
Disseminate information to ensure compliance with headquarter directives.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Up to 15% Business Travel required.
- This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Publishing administrative instructions and/or directives in response to healthcare policies; 2) Disseminating communications to ensure implementation of agency initiatives; 3) Consolidating healthcare operational data for leadership review; 4) Preparing official responses, such as Congressional statements or agency reports, to meet high-level tasker objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
