You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Norfolk, VA.

Duties

You will provide project management for the government and contractor teams as an SPQ-9B Installation Team Lead. You will work closely with the On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) to resolve issues. You will provide oversight of all phases of tasking related to installations specified in applicable alteration/shipboard change documents. You will plan, coordinate, schedule and manage multiple installation projects. You will perform requisite technical and quality oversight responsibilities, including in-process monitoring on all shifts conducting work.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronics technical theories and techniques to schedule, coordinate and monitor the installation of radar systems aboard naval ships.
