About the Position: This position serves as a Military Analyst (Capability Development), within the Mission Command Center of Excellence, Force Modernization Proponent Center, Army Knowledge Management Proponent Office, Fort Leavenworth, KS.
Duties
Review work in terms of timeliness and compliance to ensure the overall requirements and policy of the organization.
Maintain access to authoritative manpower and personnel databases to obtain, monitor and analyze personnel information requirements (e.g., Knowledge Management Professionals) in support of assigned projects or anticipated needs.
Review doctrinal literature and required regulatory documents to ensure ongoing concept development work.
Conduct literature research and presenting results via reports, studies and oral briefings in order to accomplish assigned project/study, and methods for analysis.
Serve as a principal concept analyst and coordinator of knowledge management related actions relating to the development of concepts that result in revised doctrine and organizations for the Army.
Prepare responses and/or comments to ensure they are in accordance with guidance and policies.
Brief leadership and/or management to ensure the results of individual or teamwork results.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position has a business travel requirement of up to 20%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing comprehensive plans for providing support to future concept and capabilities in concept development and experimentation planning AND 2) integrating of personnel and organization requirements and staff personnel actions for echelons at Brigade level or above by analyzing such areas as future personnel requirement studies, Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) Assessments, Personnel Skill Development Identifiers (PSDI), and/or Military Occupational Classification Structure (MOCS) changes.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
