You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will manage the nonnuclear auditing, surveillance, and assessment functions to assure a specified level of quality, improved processes, and the reliability of non-nuclear work.
You will establish and manage an internal audit program that includes the preparation of audit plans, performance of formalized audits, preparing concise
reports that assess the area audited, reviewing and evaluating shipyard actions.
You will establish and manage a surveillance program that will provide increased confidence that the shipyard is producing a quality product particularly in those areas where in-process inspections are not invoked;
You will establish and manage a self assessment program that is a comprehensive program for continuous critical self-evaluation of performance, resulting in continuous improvement in processes, work practices, and training.
You will oversee subordinate staff conducting reviews of instructions, procedures, plans, specifications, work records, certification documents, and observance
of all aspects of production and engineering work at PHNSY and IMF.
You will act as Chairperson for meetings concerning deficiencies and issues which are discovered during the course of audits/surveillances/assessments.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing a quality assurance program related to naval ship repair, maintenance, or ship construction.
