About the Position: You will perform as a Engineering Technician (Civil) provides computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) support for engineers assigned to the Section, including both Civil and Military Works projects.
Duties
You will perform as a Engineering Technician (Civil) provides computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) support for engineers assigned to the Section, including both Civil and Military Works projects.
Develop, maintain and share a thorough knowledge of CADD and ProjectWise workstation hardware, operational techniques and standards.
Consult with project leaders to assure detailing of data is compatible with the specifications being written and to furnish information thereto for coverage in the specifications.
Confer with assignment originators as necessary to obtain additional or clarifying information, or to offer suggested revisions.
Maintain record of work accomplished on each job.
Review work prepared by others for compliance with drafting accuracy, quality standards, and other established design policies. Observes all safety rules, regulations, and directives applicable to the work assignment.
Review and coordinate credit card purchases, serves as a Credit Card Holder for the office, and follows established guidelines for making purchases and keeping records as required.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- May be selected at any grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. Non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade based on time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the higher graded duties.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesdeveloping and completing advanced technical and design assignments using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) using Building Information Modeling (BIM), REVIT, Inventor or AutoCAD.; Assist with creating drawings and make modifications to features for various Civil Works, military projects; knowledge of using AEC CADD Standards.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06);
OR
B. Education: One full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position.
To qualify at the GS-08 grade level:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes : completing technical and design assignments using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD ) and Building Information Modeling (BIM), REVIT, Inventor or AutoCAD.; understanding how survey and engineering data and drawings are developed and their application are related to construction; making modification to features for various Civil works and military projects; prepares quantity estimates, and shares responsibility for technical accuracy for calculations and project features; Use AutoCAD standards for drawings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07);

B. Education: One full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position.
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes drawing preparation utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) using Building Information Modeling (BIM), REVIT, Inventor or AutoCAD.; utilizes more advance CADD applications and Digital Terrain Modeling DTM features, as well as surveying, civil engineering and drafting standards to complete and/ or analyze design analysis, drawings, and quantity estimates; preparing preliminary and final input to planning reports, design documentation reports, contract drawings; identifying technical civil/site design, and survey problems inherent in the assignment; Use AEC CADD standards for drawingsThis definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08; ORB. Education: Two full years of graduate level education OR a master's degree that is directly related to the work of the position.
Combination of Education and Experience May Be Used to Qualify at the GS-07, GS-08, and GS-09 Grade Levels: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for this position. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).
