About the Position: This position is located within the Civilian Human Resources Agency Soldier and Department of Defense (DoD) Human Resources Directorate, DoD Education Activity Civilian Human Resources Service Center and may be eligible for local commuting area remote work in the future as determined by agency policy.

Duties

Provide guidance on merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, and the development and use of valid selection criteria. Review past recruitment practices and local labor markets to advise on future staffing strategies. Perform supervisory duties to include developing performance standards, appraising work of employees, and handling employee grievances. Investigate current practices to identify deficiencies for development of improved strategies, processes, and procedures. Administer delegated examining, direct/expedited hire authorities, and merit promotion recruitments. Oversee recruitments based on assessment and evaluation of staffing needs and methods.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceManaging Human ResourcesProblem SolvingStaffing and Recruiting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
