About the Position: This position is located within the Civilian Human Resources Agency Soldier and Department of Defense (DoD) Human Resources Directorate, DoD Education Activity Civilian Human Resources Service Center and may be eligible for local commuting area remote work in the future as determined by agency policy.
Duties
Provide guidance on merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, and the development and use of valid selection criteria.
Review past recruitment practices and local labor markets to advise on future staffing strategies.
Perform supervisory duties to include developing performance standards, appraising work of employees, and handling employee grievances.
Investigate current practices to identify deficiencies for development of improved strategies, processes, and procedures.
Administer delegated examining, direct/expedited hire authorities, and merit promotion recruitments.
Oversee recruitments based on assessment and evaluation of staffing needs and methods.

Specialized Experience for GS-13: This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). One year of specialized experience which includes: reviewing organizational Human Resources (HR) goals and objectives and advising on civilian recruitment strategies; ensuring civilian HR recruitment policies and/or regulations are followed; interpreting civilian HR laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide advice and guidance to officials, supervisors, and employees on a variety of civilian HR functions; and providing guidance on complex determinations unresolved by peers through review of work and production status. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
