You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Requirements Branch, Control Division, Supply Management Department, Naval Supply (NAVSUP), Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (FLCN) ofNAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Duties

You will be responsible for performing inventory control services. You will manage material by demand based on usage in support of mission operations. You will review all applicable reports, determining actions, responsibilities, or schedules to ensure proper and timely receipt of material to meet customer demands. You will be responsible to manage materials such as major aeronautical components, repair parts, electronic ships parts, construction components, flight clothing, and general supplies. You will establish Master Stock Item Records (MSIRs) for repairables included in the fixed allowance and ensure that allowance quantity is established on the MSIR and in Navy ERP and NALCOMIS. You will analyze the Summary Turnaround Time Report (STTR) generated by NALCOMIS which may show alterations in usage requiring an allowance change. You will maintain direct liaison with personnel at all sources of supply in order to maintain a balanced stock posture. This includes direct communication with Inventory Control Points, vendors, maintenance depots, and customer activities, etc.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires occasional travel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Technician specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying inventory and financial management of both controlled and de-controlled items to include responsibility for stock level maintenance, procurement authorization, referral authorization, and disposal authorization. Specific experience must include knowledge and skill in the following duties: 1) Performing tasks concerned with receipt, storage, distribution, cataloging, packaging and inventory of a variety of materials; 2) Utilizing automated supply systems to identify and control material input and correct information; 3) Analyzing shipping documents to ensure receipt of correct inventory; and 4) Reviewing reports to maintain proper inventory levels.
