You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Mid-Atlantic Region's Supply Logistics Program of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will schedule and physically conduct inventories for various programs to include reimbursable programs, sponsor-owned material, Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) and Non-NWCF material continuously. You will maintain the status of material needed for customer support and ensures efficient storage operations. You will serve as a contact for statistical physical inventory projects to improve inventory reliability. You will be responsible for performing such functions as inventory selection, statistical sample allocation, loading/unloading data, generating reports, running programs and performing close-out, archive daily interface. You will provide necessary paperwork and packaging of off-station shipments.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing supply activities utilizing the knowledge of supply operations and program requirements and the ability to apply established supply policies, day-to-day servicing techniques, and regulations. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Assists in conducting physical inventory checks for various programs to resolve discrepancies. 2) Receives and reviews supply documentation. 3) Compares lists of customers' supply requests against stock records for availability of supplies/parts. 4) Knowledge of automated supply systems to conduct standard supply actions. 5) Assists in coordinating transportation of supply/ materials with customers to assure no delays or discrepancies.
