You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Audits & Surveillance Branch, Engineering & Analysis Division, Quality Assurance Office of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will conduct audits and surveillances using quality assurance methods, techniques and principles to produce unbiased and factual results.
You will provide cost estimates for manpower and material associated with conducting audits and surveillances.
You will develop surveillance checklists, and schedules and establish responsibilities for discrepancy actions, and report the status of related actions.
You will issue final official reports with emphasis on administrative and technical accuracy.
You will review subordinates work assignments for technical and administrative accuracy and provide guidance as to how work should be accomplished.
You will review shipyard audit and surveillance programs for efficiency and recommend changes to management.
You will prepare certification criteria for personnel conducting or assisting in quality audits.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and developing quality assurance audit and surveillance program procedures, studies and requirements to identify operational and procedural deficiencies and implement corrective action to ensure ship and submarine repair practices meet quality and certification requirements. My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.
