This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Executive and Staff Offices Division, Office of the Deputy Administrator Division, Career Board, Arlington, VA.
This position primary purpose is to support the Career Board Office in formal and/or on-the-job training and performs developmental assignments to provide service to the Travel Control Numbers (TCN) program, the Financial Program.

As a Program Analystyour typical work assignments may include:
Organizing and categorizing vacancy announcements for SSA positions to prevent duplicate postings and to accurately track cancellations.
Managing the SharePoint for Career Board Website.
Advising key management officials on the status of various programs appropriate to specific functional areas.
Writing reports that document results and identifying future objectives.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Assisting in researching issues which are likely to have substantial impact on mission-oriented programs throughout the agency; 2) Assisting with reviewing project management requirements for the performance management of the agency programs; and 3) Working closely with supervisor on researching issues, resolving problems, developing reports, and setting program goals.
OR
Education: Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree -or- two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Conducting audits, analyzing and evaluating data collected, and preparing management briefings and reports that document findings, conclusions, and recommendations on major program areas; 2) Assisting in interpreting and providing guidance in areas that require examination and interpretation of existing processes and methods; and, 3) Analyzing of pertinent budgetary laws, regulations, policies and precedents which affect the use of resources in programs.

Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -or- three (3) full academic years of graduate level education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
