About the Position: Serves as an Automotive Technician for Bravo Company, Support Battalion, 1st Warfare Training Group (Airborne), United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.
Duties
Work requires knowledge of the supply system in association with the automotive maintenance field, as well as the interaction between supply, resource management and procurement entities.
Establishes, reviews and maintains stock levels for all items stocked.
Creates and maintains spreadsheets or other appropriate databases for the unit budget, resource management office and unit Authorized Stockage List (ASL).
Complies with equipment readiness reports and establishes and maintains operations and tracking records.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Valid Motor Vehicle Operators license, with the ability to operate a vehicle up to and including 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.
- Must be able to regularly lift 45 pounds and occasionally lift more.
- Required to successfully pass a physical examination as required by Federal and Office of Safety and Occupational Health Administration guide.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license.
- 10% Temporary duty (TDY) travel required to perform duties in remote locations.
- Secret Clearance.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period, unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience involving routine supply management functions. 2) Supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to a vehicle and equipment repair. 3) Experience with automated systems such as Global Combat Support System (GCSS-A) and Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) opening and closing supply orders, verifying and ordering parts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualitfy. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
