As a licensed independent provider, the incumbent is to provide integrated comprehensive mental health and social services for the Sherman Indian High School's Mental Health and Substance Abuse Intervention Program. Incumbent ensures patients receive quality patient centered integrated mental health care that is consistent with the patient-centered medical home principles, and that care is timely, appropriate, cost effective, coordinated and sensitive to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
Duties
Direct Patient Services: Responsible for providing integrated mental and social service health maintenance, emergency, and therapeutic services for patients that support the Patient Centered Medical Home health care system; Provides diagnostic evaluations for adolescent, parent and family cases, to include complete formal mental health evaluations, clinical diagnosis, treatment plan and all required documentation; Manages behavioral health emergencies by using advanced clinical and analytical skills to determine level of danger to self and danger to others and initiating and coordinating effective emergency care.
Case Management Duties: Provides case management services for inpatient referrals, patients and families, as needed; Develops and utilizes community and state resources as needed by beneficiaries.
Therapy/Educational Duties: Provides in-person and virtual therapy. Coordinates appropriate transition to specialty Behavioral Health when more complex services are needed. Performs brief and solution-focused interventions for a wide range of both acute and chronic behavioral health concerns.
Technical Duties: Plans the general coverage of the program and major changes and shifts in program priorities. Determines the nature and extent of social work to be provided based on the available resources and patient needs; Serves as a consultant to school and medical staff. Recommends updates and revisions to clinic, school and Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications and Selective Placement Factor stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include: Professional knowledge of social work to provide a variety of treatment modalities and their application including individual, family, psychotherapy and case consultation; Knowledge and specialized experience in using the Diagnostic System of Mental Health Disorders (DSM); Competence with DSM for differential diagnosis and treatment planning; Knowledge of psychological principles and processes, and psychotropic medications; and Ability to perform extensive research and evaluation.

This position requires a current, unrestricted U.S. State license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW). (Must attach a copy of your license with your application.)
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
