About the Position: About the Position: This IT Specialist (INFOSEC) is located at White Sands Missile Range, Commanding General with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, NM. Duties

Assess the security posture of classified and unclassified Information Systems (IS) related to Cyber Management with Army approved tools for monitoring vulnerabilities and Risk Management Framework (RMF) record management. Serve as Subject Matter Expert and provides direct customer support to help resolve security vulnerability issues that cannot be resolved through automated means. Responsible for maintaining the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program. Coordinate the remediation of identified vulnerabilities on IS using automated tools such as ACAS to distribute required system updates. Establish and maintain Information System security, including communications network security for all installation Tenants that reside on the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN). Assist in the administration of an effective IA program for all networks within the WSMR G6 that involves providing security advice, guidance, and assistance. Provide technical/procedural assistance to subordinate activities during investigations of criminal misuse of Army Information System (IS) resources. Provide support for Communication Security (COMSEC) to ensure successful classified missions. Track compliance with IAVA to report results to the Organization ISSM Evaluates RCC generated Information Assurance / Cyber Security Bulletins and Technical Tips for applicability to WSMR computer systems. Responsible for the administration of the RMF program and RMF package submission. Serve as an alternate COMSEC account manager to enable classified network operations.

Requirements

  • This position requires the employee obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license to perform the duties of this position.
  • Selectee may be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain updated certifications as an appointed IAM Level II per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practices (BBP).
  • Must obtain and maintain the Communications Security Account Managers Course and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Management Client (MGC) and certification within 6 months of entry on duty.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.
  • The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11/NH-02).
