The incumbent serves as the Data and Quality Specialist for the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 8 Clinical Contact Center (CCC). He/She is responsible for obtaining, analyzing and distributing data pertaining to the performance of the VISN 8 CCC.
Duties
Initiates ongoing data validation of reports initiated through the Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA), VISN Support Services Center (VSSC), Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) and various other technological data warehouses to ensure the accuracy of the data.
Actively seeks out errors, instructs employees on how to correct errors, and assists in the training of employees on how to avoid recurrence of errors.
Provides reports of errors and corrective action taken to the VISN 8 CCC leadership and support staff. Will be responsible for ensuring that data associated with the VISN 8 CCC is reported timely and accurately to national SharePoint sites, action items, etc.
Required to provide reports for the VISN 8 CCC leadership team, VISN 8 leadership team and Central Office.
Analyzes programs for efficiency and effectiveness based upon supporting data.
Serves as an integral member of the Data and Quality program and initiates quality assurance audits by listening to and accessing patient and team member engagements.
Leads and participates on interdisciplinary performance improvement teams and provides data as requested.
Work Schedule: M-F, 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, 8: 00am-4:30pm (40 hours a week)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/03/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of VA policies and procedures especially in the areas pertaining to customer service. Must be familiar with the computer system and have a thorough knowledge of the data collection concepts for medical centers, including a variety of operating systems, databases, functions and options, terminal codes, language and computer applications. Incumbent must be familiar with the technical aspects of the hardware and software for output and input of data in order to establish a good working relationship with employees. Must be able to maintain equipment, both performing routine service and identifying necessary repairs. Knowledge of VA laws and regulations pertaining to eligibility, benefits, and a comprehensive knowledge of the organizational structure, mission and goals as they relate to the delivery of health care. In addition, the incumbent must possess the knowledge and ability to relate well with people and the use of good training techniques. Historical experience of building codes and/or running queries with codes within Microsoft Excel.

Physical Requirements: Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing and answering phone calls. The work is mostly sedentary; however, it occasionally requires carrying light objects such as files, books and papers.
