Duties

Serves as a Supply Technician to ensure the availability of supplies, equipment and services for administrative needs, standard and non-standard in support of institutional training. Serves as the point of contact for supply related logistical issues. Purchases supplies, standard and non-standard equipment, including regular, special and high value items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Requires the skills of a qualified typist (40 wpm).
  • Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying knowledge of automated supply system, policies and work methods to accomplish actions; 2) Applying knowledge of the procedures for processing the various supply transactions to include special handling and the flow of work through the supply process; and 3) Applying knowledge of supply functions to include receipt, handling, storage, issue, control, maintenance, inventory, security and other technical supply functions including terminology associated with the items of equipment utilized by the unit. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
