Duties

Incumbent formulates systematic analytical approaches to problem solving. Provides computer systems analysis, computer programming, system administration and maintenance in support of DLA Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) and Zero Trust (ZT) based applications prototyping, (continued) development, modification, and implementation. Performs difficult and complex research or troubleshooting in critical problem areas including the interface and integration with other systems having facility wide impact and or application. Develops and documents project plans, coordinates support from participating activities, organizes data collection, collects data, determines, or develops methodology required, solves the problem and prepares the required report. Develops and publishes systems documentation (on and off line) which describes data flow and computer system processing, and which guides and instructs end-users and system administrators. Serves as computer specialist on projects and programs concerning all areas of computer systems and applications, including the Account Management and Provisioning System (AMPS) and all auxiliary administrative support systems.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Performs systems analysis and design, conduct feasibility studies, develop system specifications and similar activities related to Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) and Zero Trust (ZT) requirements and processes. - Develops computer applications, scripts and processes that solve business problems, improve business operations, or meet business requirements as specified by the customer. - Develops System procedures, processes, and output products in order to analyze problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions and evaluates recommendations for necessary changes in ICAM/ZT systems and or available sources of information. - Assists with data entry, interrogation of systems and downloading from the systems. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
