About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable.
This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 302nd Signal Battalion, located at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Duties
Serve as a lead Supply Specialist, 302d Signal Battalion, Company Supply, planning, directing, and coordinating property management, supply, procurement, inventory control and storage.
Develops and implements internal policies and procedures.
Maintain the 302d Signal Battalion, Company Supply hand receipt and accountability records of controlled and uncontrolled items adopted by the Army for worldwide use.
Oversee the handling, storage, transfer, disposition, and physical control of property in storage.
Oversee the justification and requisition of a broad range of complex, specialized electronic equipment, repair parts and supplies.
Ensure preparation of cash collection vouchers, reports of survey and statements of charges for all lost, damaged, or destroyed government property
Plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign tasks to subordinate military personnel.
Ensure accuracy of Shop Stock Lists (SSL) and monitor inventory control records in the database using Global Combat Support System-Army Global Combat Support System–Army (GCSS-A) or the most current Army Logistics Support System.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Position requires lifting of 30 pounds.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service.
(GS-9) Assisting in monitoring use and expenditure rates of budgeted funds by review of documents and accounting records; aiding in the of preparing and organizing hand receipts, support in conducting inventories of equipment or supplies; knowledge of establishing and maintaining records of all required documentation.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
(GS-11). Specialized experience would be demonstrated by experience monitoring use and expenditure rates of budgeted funds by review of documents and accounting records; experience in preparing and organizing hand receipts, conducting inventories of equipment or supplies; establishing and maintaining records of all required documentation.
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
