As the NASCOM (NASA Communications) Systems Administrator, within the Networks and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) Service Line, you will be responsible for establishing modernization policies, procedures, schedules, resources, and security of the systems that support NASCOM and their customers. You will support a team of highly skilled IT Specialists in integrating, operating, securing, and planning of mission network systems.

Duties

Serve as a recognized Subject Matter Expert in Systems Administration for information technology. Responsible for the planning, requirements management, architecture development, technical design, implementation, operations, and security for NASA Communications (NASCOM) systems and infrastructure modernization. Coordinate day-to-day NASCOM activities as they relate to NASCOM Systems Administration and Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) integration efforts. Exercise authority in Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) technical integration between NASCOM systems, external service lines, and internal and external partners. Responsible for oversight of NASCOM systems roadmaps and integration into all service line processes. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Ensuring the effectiveness, management, execution of technical requirements for the systems architecture of information technology services; Conducting information technology systems performance management and ensuring policies/processes are in compliance (e.g., management controls for OKRs, KPIs, KRIs); Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across the agency in order to meet the technical requirements of information technology systems. AND IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
