You will serve as the Human Spaceflight (HSF) liaison between NASA's Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) mission partners and NASA Communications (NASCOM) to modernize policies, procedures, schedules, resources, and security of the networks that support SCaN and their customers, manage expectations, improve relationships and collaborate with technical teams. You will lead a team of highly skilled specialists in integrating, operating, securing, and planning of mission networks.
Duties
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Information Technology with responsibility for the planning, requirements management, architecture development, technical design, implementation, operations, and security for NASCOM services relating to HSF.
Exercise authority in Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) technical integration between NASCOM services and SCaN requirements.
Develop and foster collaborative relationships between the NaTS service line and SCaN leadership, management, and teams, understanding their requirements and challenges while advocating for a balanced approach to mission usability of IT services.
Lead the technical design and implementation of IT to mission requirements during the life cycle of programs and projects across SCaN.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of the technical design and capabilities of the NASCOM Mission Network.
Support human and robotic flight readiness reviews ensuring telecommunication and network requirements are implemented and ready to support NASA spaceflight operations.
Lead technical troubleshooting efforts and teams to identify and resolve issues affecting mission critical network communication issues.

Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level
Providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT network, system, and security issues;
Collaborating with all Office of Chief Information Officer Enterprise Programs to provide oversight of the effectiveness, management, and execution of technical requirements supporting Space Communications and Navigation requirements of NASA Communication Services; and
Leading activities for specialized information technology such as ground/space instruments, spacecraft and/or networks through the mission development life cycle from concepts to operations.
AND
