NASA has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Information Technology Specialist who is prepared to lead as Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) and direct state-of-the-art computing, networking, and cybersecurity at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. You will partner with the CIO to obtain resources, identify strategic organizational objectives, define technical work requirements and milestones, and evaluate the organization and employee accomplishments.
Duties
Act as back up to the Center Chief Information Officer (CIO) /Director of HQ/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Partner with OCIO enterprise offices to deliver high-quality IT solutions and services to HQ and GSFC programs, projects, and missions.
Facilitate center IT security program services and compliance measures through the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Cybersecurity and Privacy Division.
Partner with missions to identify IT solutions to meet strategic needs and identify appropriate IT strategy to address unique IT requirements.
Responsible for all Center and Agency required DCIO activities. Work with the Center OCIO leadership team to identify strategic objectives for the organization. Define, lead, and manage the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the HQ/GSFC OCIO.
Supervise Associate Directors and other managers/leaders as needed; recommend employee promotions and recognition, while approving leave and implementing performance actions.
Provide authoritative IT guidance and consultation on high quality IT and information management services to ensure that missions and objects are met.
Partner across the Agency OCIO to identify opportunities to improve IT operations, solutions, policies, processes, and procedures.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Leading a complex IT services organization in the delivery of a broad array of IT products and services including collaborating with business partners to identify and deliver required IT solutions;
Leading IT transformation initiatives including organizational and IT delivery model changes that reduce cost and/or improve service/security in an environment of diverse platforms, applications, and technologies;
Collaborating with mission/business partners to formulate and oversee a cybersecurity program to improve an organization's cybersecurity posture (information security protections, utilizing a risk-based approach, etc.)
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
