This vacancy is for a Governance & Strategy Facilitation Specialist position in the Department of Commerce located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Duties
Serve as expert technical resource and leader for organizational performance support activities.
Provide strategic management and governance facilitation support to enterprise-level governance boards.
Assist in the conception, development, and management of definitive plans and strategies that will enhance the quality and effectiveness of strategic conceptual products and the efficiency of the governance board’s processes.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes:
Experience having a broad understanding of the agency's mission, organization, and operations coupled with an extensive, in-depth knowledge of the activities of the program directorates in both program and administrative areas; in-dept knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of strategic management, portfolio management, and governance; knowledge in strategic analysis, evidence based decision making and project management; superior managerial, administrative and organizational skills that are used to develop long-range plans, manage projects, recommend organizational alternatives, use evidence for decision making, and develop governance program(s) for Census Bureau portfolios.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
