About the Position: This position is located in Mobile, Alabama with the Acquisition and Management Branch, Real Estate Division. The Branch is responsible for the acquisition of required lands, relocation of residents and businesses affected by acquisitions, administering relocations contracts and administering the Uniform Relocations Assistance Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended.
Duties
At the full performance level (GS-7), the incumbent will have responsibilities that include:
Assists realty specialists by performing segments/portions of their work, such as completing real estate matters involving application of basic real estate practices and procedures.
Contacts potential project applicants, in writing or in person.
Contacts internal and external parties in order to co-ordinate and expedite real estate acquisition actions, including title contract procurements, if required.
Provides accurate information to the applicant in terms that he or she can readily understand.
Closely co-ordinates complex and/or unusual acquisition financial transactions with counterparts.
Receives reviewed lease agreements, legal documents and/or relocations assistance applications from branch staff.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Processing a variety of real estate transactions such as leases, easements, permits, outgrant assignments, etc.; 2. Conducting data entry utilizing a financial database system or other database system to reflect real estate accountability, real estate transactions/reports; 3. Formulate both verbal communication and written correspondence with stakeholders to ensure real estate requirements are clear and concise.; Or 4. Conduct research utilizing applicable laws, regulations and/or policies for real estate functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
