About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the Joint Activities Command at Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Assess potential exercise logistic requirements and develops courses of action to ensure those requirements are met.
Responsible for the fraud, waste and abuse initiatives and Financial Liability of Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPL) Program.
Develops an overall logistics support plan for the exercise to include all classes of supply, transportation, and basing for ground, air, and maritime forces.
Plans and coordinates logistical requirements to support significant exercises, to include quarterly joint readiness exercises, theater-level exercises and other exercises as required.
Participate in the strategic planning process by developing input to the concept of operations plan for exercises.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- This is a drug testing designated position and requires the incumbent to complete a drug test examination prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 30% of the time.
- This position is Deployable and may travel to OCONUS locations. A physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
- This position is designated as mission essential, consistent with the criteria described in DoD instruction (DoDI) 3020.42.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless previously completed.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 100 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has been designated “Weather Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission operations.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes experience in 1) Ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, laws and procedures that affect logistical operations and services; 2) Applying qualitative and quantitative techniques to develop integrated multi-service logistical support; 3) Utilizing oral and written communication to brief technical guidance on logistical requirements to higher and subordinate commands. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
