You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) J669 Partner Interoperability and Engagements of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as a Communication-Security (COMSEC) Specialist.
You will develop and execute the USINDOPACOM Foreign COMSEC management Plan.
You will assist foreign military sales cases involving secure communications equipment and services.
You will provide COMSEC policy and technical assistance to the Joint interoperability Test Command (JITC) to facility testing of select U.S. and foreign secure communications systems.
You will assist the J69 Partner Interoperability Country Desk Officer (CDO) in activities supporting respective Foreign parner engagements.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
At the GS-11 grade level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Telecommunications Specialist work applying knowledge of a wide range of communications, networks, computers, and communications systems management concepts, principles, and practices, processes to accomplish work through the use of telecommunications devices, methods, services, and facilities in order to effectively and efficiently administer COMSEC program. Experience evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. Examples of specialized experience are as follows:
Utilizing knowledge of national COMSEC Policy, procedures.
Applying knowledge of the technical characteristics of cryptographic equipment.
Developing procedures and practices as prescribed in National COMSEC instructions (NACSIs), National Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Instructions (NTISSI), National Communications Security Directives, and equipment technical publications.
Incorporating technical characteristics of cryptographic equipment gained from field experience and/or specialized schooling, to include equipment characteristics and limitations, compatibility and interoperability with various types of communications infrastructure.
Implementing principles required to manage all phases of COMSEC operations to include physical, technical, and Telecommunications security principles, accounting and records-keeping practices, types of communications media, line speed capacities, critical security parameters and installation criteria.
At the GS-12 grade level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Telecommunications Specialist work applying knowledge of a wide range of communications, networks, computers, and communications systems management concepts, principles, and practices, processes to accomplish work through the use of cryptographic telecommunications devices, methods, services, and facilities in order to effectively and efficiently administer COMSEC program. Experience evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. Examples of specialized experience are as follows:

Education
For the GS-11- In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.
