This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-PACIFIC (PCC).
Duties
Maintain currency with merging technologies to develop plans and projects of a strategic nature involving information assurance, exercises, contingencies, and adaptive event planning in support the Combatant Command, mission partners
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of industry and the DOD user community capabilities, progress, policies, objectives, interests and practices in order that they are properly considered, integrated
Prepares and staffs DISA position papers and provides information via correspondences directly to Military Departments and Defense Agencies on IT programs and projects.
Develops and reviews operational procedures and techniques. Researches trends and patterns to deviate from traditional methods and to implement new or improved communication methods and procedures
Briefs upper management on problems that may arise which cannot be corrected promptly. Manages the accomplishment of projects through continuing appraisal, analysis, and technical status review.
Establishes management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, management indicators, and management reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problems.
Interprets the commander's intent and develops recommendations that support the Combatant Commands strategic objectives and goals.
Provides reports and recommendations so that problems and solutions for major segments of a project or system are resolved without jeopardizing the mission.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a Drug Testing position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Mission Assurance in the specialized experience right after quality assurance. Providing large scale IT project management support and customer service to include; requirements definition, project estimating, implementing, quality control, risk management and closing a project. .
