Duties
You will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in Administrative Department, Office of the Commanding Officer, Fleet Weather Center Norfolk, Virginia.
You will provide essential office automation and data processing support and production.
You will utilize the capabilities, operating characteristics, and advanced functions of a variety of different software types to improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of office operations.
You will develop methods for automating recurring tasks and reports, considering the multiple uses of the data presented.
You will perform military pay and personnel services, including preparation of leave documents, officer fitness reports and enlisted performance evaluations.
You will prepare temporary duty travel orders and travel vouchers for military and civilian personnel using the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience developing methods for automating recurring tasks and reports, considering the multiple uses of the data presented;
Experience developing and maintaining up-to-date computer databases for all action correspondence and project work for the department;
Experience providing expert advice to command staff and develops procedures regarding the preparation and publication of various documents with complex formats;
Experience performing military pay and personnel services, including preparation of leave documents, officer fitness reports and enlisted performance evaluations
GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience utilizing automated systems to prepare technical and statistical letters/reports on subjects;
Experience assisting in administration of the Military Awards Program and reviewing personal award submissions for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness;
Experience reviewing reports for conformance with reporting requirements while monitoring adherence to established time limits in replying to various types of correspondence, messages, and electronic taskers; and
Experience coordinating annual review of forms and reviewing usage and cost and cancels obsolete forms.
