Duties

You will serve as the OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the AFLOAT TRAINING GROUP, NORFOLK (ATGN), COMMANDER NAVAL SURFACE FORCE ATLANTIC FLEET (CNSL) of AFLOAT TRAINING GROUP NORFOLK. You will provide guidance and administrative support functions essential to the efficient operation of ATGN. You will coordinate and ensure procedures meet office needs. You will prepare agenda for meetings and conferences and accurately documents minutes. You will utilize various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and graphic design.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing a variety of clerical, administrative and technical duties/responsibilities in support of management. Experience performing various clerical functions such as typing routine correspondence, screen incoming calls, maintain command calendars; and scheduling conferences and meetings. Experience preparing replies to general inquires and routine actions. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project Management. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
