You will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT within NAVSAFECOM.

Duties

You will provide various services which include administrative processing of command and Flag level correspondence, mail, records management, directives control, utilization of Microsoft/Flank Speed communications platforms and data systems. You will compose official correspondence, memorandums, letters, and reports. You will perform the duties of Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) duties to include processing all personnel pay, gains and losses, transfers, retirement and separation packages, leave requests. You will be responsible for scheduling of conference rooms, provides central phone answering service and records management services. You will assist in preparation of department budget and reviews supply and training expenditures requests.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following; Preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents; maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling information for reports and similar clerical support work within an organization. Utilizing a mail system for preparing and processing incoming and outgoing mail for distribution to their respective destination. Processing travel claims in accordance with applicable instructions (e.g., Joint Travel Regulations, Joint Federal Travel Regulations, the Defense Travel System, Travel Charge Card) for travel management. Performing the duties of Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) duties to include processing all personnel pay, gains and losses, transfers, retirement and separation packages, leave requests. Maintaining composure when dealing with a difficult customer. Articulating effectively, conveying written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
