You will serve as a Management Analyst in the Baseline Availability Work Package (BAWP) Division of the Availability Planning department of Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFACE MAINT ENG PLANNING PROGRAM) (SURFMEPP).

Duties

You will provide direction and implementation guidance for technical program management decisions to integrate maintenance planning functions in all phases for the surface ship acquisition life cycle. You will perform studies that improve the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, products, organizations, manpower use, distribution of work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, etc. You will plan and conduct comprehensive studies and reviews of subjects that often are several organizational levels in depth. You will develop criteria in support of analysis related to the full cycle of planning and execution for Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWPs). You will recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and economy of managing organizations and employees to accomplish mission objectives within cognizant Navy command, field activity and contractor manufacturing facilities.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing ship or ship system programs (e.g., Navy maintenance concepts, maintenance task scheduling) to develop maintenance or modernization project plans for process improvement.
