This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB/MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Performs a variety of duties in support of the transportation, shipping and receiving operations of various classifications of ammunition to include the receipt, storage, issue and accountability of material required for shipment and/or receipt.
Duties
Performs a variety of supply support functions including requisition, receipt, issue, and storage of Radioactive Source material.
Makes recommendations for establishing procedures for newly established area(s).
Uses the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Oracle and various office automation equipment (including terminals, personal computers, printers, etc.,) to store and retrieve electronic documents/files.
Performs duties regarding receiving, issuing, storage, and processing of documents/materials related to both direct and indirect hazardous/non-hazardous items.
Operates electric, gas, and/or diesel-powered forklifts to move loads up to 15,000 lbs.
Independently researches manufacturer, vendor, federal supply catalogs, technical manuals and specifications to obtain part number and/or adequate nomenclature.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Screening actions for all incoming hazardous material receipts that primarily involve Radioactive source. 2) Performing duties regarding receiving, issuing, storage, and processing of documents/materials related to both direct and indirect hazardous/non-hazardous items. 3) Operating electric, gas, and/or diesel-powered forklifts to move loads up to 15,000 lbs.
and 4) Researching existing stock catalogs to identify items already cataloged in the supply system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service. (GS-05)

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
